These days online job applications are just as common as cell phones, and they are becoming even more widespread as HR departments move farther and farther away from paper-based processing. Any day now, I'm expecting to see a company accepting applications by text message.

Tomorrow morning (Friday Oct 2nd) I'll be moderating a tele-seminar (see here) with an expert on how to handle being overqualified. Preparing for the call got me thinking about all those people, of all ages, who land jobs with barely any of the required qualifications written on the job description.
